Description

The farm is located in the Pandamatenga Farms, approximately 18km South-West of the village (on the Pandamatenga – Nata Highway, A33). Pandamatenga Farms, also known as “The Nation’s Food Basket”, are renowned for both commercial and communal arable farming. This is a commercial farming area with over ca. 45,000 hectares under cultivation. The area offers great potential for agricultural activity with relatively high rainfalls (estimated at 650mm per annum) and very fertile soil. An airstrip is available with three aeroplanes operating from it for crop spraying. A 120km-drainage system is in place to help eradicate floods within the farms. In 2018, the Pandamatenga Farms recorded average sorghum yields of 3-5 tonnes per hectare.

Majority of the produce from these farms is sold to Botswana Agricultural Marketing Board (BAMB), a government owned company mandated to provide a market for locally grown scheduled crops and ensure that adequate supplies exist for sale to customers at affordable prices. Produce from these farms is also sold to Foods Botswana (Pty) Ltd, a major retailer in food manufacturing and distribution.

The large ploughing field is within the area enclosed by the Government erected electrified security fence around the Pandamatenga farms but is not itself fenced on all boundaries.
The property consists of a main house comprising of 2 bedrooms with fitted cupboards, a bathroom (bathtub, toilet and wash hand basin) lounge and open plan kitchen fitted with cupboards, tops and double sink. At the side of the house is a shaded double car port. The house is finished with cement screed flooring all round and flows out to a covered verandah, braai/ entertainment area and a swimming pool.

The property also consists of an incomplete outbuilding (farm-house), 2 generator sheds, a workshop with office, workshop shed. There is also a staff compound consisting of 6 staff houses, ablution block and shaded/covered kitchen area. Each staff house comprise of a large room with cement screed flooring. There is an ablution block with 2 showers and 2 toilets both with wash-hand basin. The property also consists of a dam.

Getting there
From Pandamatenga, heading towards Francistown/Nata, drive for ca. 18.8km and turn right (by the electric barrier fence). From here drive for 7.6km (crossing 4 ditches) and take the 2nd right turn (by the FNB Signage board). Drive for ca. 300m and the property will be straight ahead.
